Things to consider after delivery

IBD Postpartum Care

Recovering from delivery

Recovering from delivery can be challenging, whether you had a vaginal delivery or C section. It is safe to take pain medications as needed in the first few weeks after delivery, including the NSAID medications toradol (IV) or ibuprofen (oral). While it is ideal to minimize the use of opiate medications, these also may be needed to control pain and are ok to take for a limited period of time. Remember that opiate medications can cause constipation, so you may need to take a laxative medication like MIRALAX to help keep your bowels moving.
